| Well lots of people have asked me this question, maybe they ask everyone
about the same thing. Many thought that it had to do with the word "stellar"
which means astric (one's destiny) and could not understand why I used that name. :-) The truth is that the name was given instantly without even thinking when I was getting my very first internet connection. They asked me what would be my account name - and I just said "steliart". My name is Stelios and it's a short for my Christian name which is Stylianos, named after St. Stylianos a Christian Orthodox Saint who is the protector of children (see icon I painted in the Icons Section). But since Stelios was a bit difficult to pronounce by my foreign friends, so they started calling me Steli. From there on the equation was easy... steli + art = steliart. |
| It started as a homepage for myself, then it went on to become a portfolio
site of my work and in the progress of doing that, the site got bigger and bigger offering
free graphics, gif's, midis etc. for people that wanted to build a small personal
homepage. From there on it kept its character as a personal portfolio site, but it also became a promotional media for my web design abilities, mirroring a general view of what I can offer in my own way of expression. After this an Award Program was presented here based on web design excellence which is growing very fast. |
| Steliart Productions site is mostly graphically intensive having lots of high quality graphics and on the main sections pages there is a shockwave flash banner. That means that the site will be loading a bit slower than a normal site should. But sacrificing quality for downloading speed... hmm... I prefer quality. |
| This site was designed for I.E. 4+ browsers, but it works good on
Netscape too. So it's best viewed with I.E. 4+ browsers and with a 800X600 resolution
which is the optimum for this site. Also you should use at least high color (16 bit) and higher to have a good sense of the graphics and images here. |
| Well this site is offering free graphics to its visitors. In the Graphics Section there are "backgrounds", "bars (dividers)", "buttons" and "sets" that I have created to give away to my visitors. So you can copy anything you like from those, but NOT from the "logos" which are created for other people and are registered trade marks. |

Yes, you can copy my small banner that is on the main page (HOME) and I can give you a flash banner on request. Most pages are protected from right click, please do not copy anything else without my permission. |
| No, we will quote anything that someone may need i.e. logos -
illustrations - animations - banners, even a single flash intro. So feel free to ask for
anything you would need. For our clients in the USA, we will also provide them with a US contact. |
| Yes I could paint any icon, using only natural colors made out of stone
and real 24k gold leaf if needed. Painting an Icon requires lots of work and patients.
Around 60 - 80 hrs of work is needed for this , so it does take a long time to deliver,
having in mind also that the drying process takes up to a month, since real tree varnishes
are used. |
| Online help is possible if you can get me there, most of the time I'm too
busy for that. I will answer e-mails and offer advice on the subject or give guidelines, but I have no time to go on a step by step help or tutorial. |
| To win a Steliart Award first you need to have a well organized and high
quality site. Steliart Awards are hard to win since your site will be evaluated on overall web design and creation by our Evaluators individually and according to our criteria. To apply for our award make sure first you read our criteria of evaluation, view our awards and then submit the application form that will go to every Steliart Evaluator. Make sure that everything on the submission form is correct. Winners will be notified through e-mail at the end of each month. |
| As I note on the first page of my site, I urge second time visitors to
refresh/reload the pages, because I upgrade them often. At the very bottom of each page
you can see when a page was last upgraded. Also there is a special page "upgrades" that will inform you of the latest major upgrades on my site along with a date. |
